Green synthesis of non-spherical gold nanoparticles with response to near-infrared radiation for biomedical applications

Depending on the size and shape, hollow and dense gold nanoparticles (Au NPs) can find an application in biomedicine for controlled cure and heat delivery. Therefore, anisotropic NPs, like nanoprisms, triangles, and hexagons, which can show tunable surface plasmon resonance in the biogenic transparency window, are of significant interest due to their exceptional electro-optical properties. Because of the cytotoxicity of the NPs synthesized by traditional chemical methods, phytosynthesis with plant extracts, whose components supported the formation and are not yet identified, is a prospective way for obtaining biogenic non-spherical Au NPs in the greenest way.
In the presentation, the progress in the development of the phytosynthesis protocols, the formation of irregular Au NPs, their morphologic characterization, and testing for biomedical applications will be presented.
